The Trophy 2509 is an affordable walkaround fisherman with a bracket-mounted outboard and a large uncluttered cockpit. Her deep-V hull is built using Bayliner’s “Unibond” structural system, a fiberglass composite grid whose foam filling provides positive flotation for the hull. At less than 4,000 pounds (including a single outboard), the 2503 is a relatively lightweight package which makes her easier to trailer and launch than many of her heavier competitors. Standard features include plenty of rod storage, two in-deck fish boxes, a raised fish well, two removable jump seats, and a full-height transom with built-in storage lockers and cutting boards. Trim tabs and an integral bow pulpit are also standard, and the side decks are wide enough for easy fore-and-aft passage around the house. The interior accommodations provide berths for two and a mini-galley to starboard. A single 225hp Merc will deliver a cruising speed of 28 knots (about 40 knots top), and a pair of 150hp outboards will deliver a cruising speed of 32–33 knots and a top speed of about 42–43 knots.
